Why should I give to both the Building Together Capital Campaign and the BT Fund?
BT is providing an inspiring educational experience to 475+ students while also growing and transforming our campus. We can do both well. And we believe our community will support both.
The Building Together Capital Campaign is a unique opportunity to support BT in a significant way. Gifts to the Building Together Capital Campaign will have a permanent, lasting impact on our campus.
The BT Fund is integral to our annual operations and directly supports the student experience during the current school year, funding areas of immediate need or opportunity.
Your combined gifts to the Capital Campaign and The BT Fund not only unlock fun celebrations on campus but can have double the impact! Until the end of 2024, every gift of $250+ to the Capital Campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $1 million. (Excluding named-giving donations.)
What is the budget for the project?
This will be an investment, in the area of $25 million, in our learning spaces, technology, infrastructure, and safety. It is a project that is years in the making. We are in the position to move forward today thanks to foundational donations from BT Legacy Families, our Board of Trustees, and the BT Foundation Board.
Can I make my donation in honor or in memory of someone?
Yes! We encourage gifts in honor of favorite teachers, in memory of beloved family members, and anyone else you’d like to remember in this special way. Simply designate the gift on the pledge card or when you donate online.
Why is this needed now?
The campus master plan evaluated our entire campus, noting opportunities for enhancements throughout. The area identified as having the greatest need for improvements was East Campus. The plan noted a new academic building that would include a new welcome center for visitors, a re-imagining of the dining hall space, and common areas that supported the needs of all divisions of campus.
The reality is that we have outgrown our spaces, and the layouts of our current facilities do not support the range of academic and extracurricular activities currently offered on our campus. Our deteriorating and inefficient machinery and equipment is also in need of replacement. And it’s vitally important to have vibrant, welcoming spaces on campus that support learning, collaboration, and connection outside of the classroom.
How are you honoring the history of BT through this project?
As we look to the future, we also prioritize honoring our past. We have done this in several concrete ways: We preserved tiles from the old Lower School building, we saved some historic bricks to be distributed, we conducted a farewell ceremony earlier this year, we took an all-school photo in front of the building, and we buried a time capsule earlier this year. We will continue to find ways to celebrate our history while creating new memories.
