Project History

Brownell Talbot is proudly the only independent, private, coeducational college preparatory day school in the state of Nebraska. As one of the state’s oldest schools, we draw upon our heritage of strength, growth, and adaptability to drive our future.

More than three years ago, with input from across our BT community, we developed an ambitious campus master plan aligned with our goal of defining and setting the standard for excellence in learning environments. Back then, we knew the future would require world-class educational spaces to match the world-class education we provide. With the new campus master plan set in motion, we started due diligence and detailed planning in earnest, keeping the interests of our students top-of-mind in every phase. As we see the plans come to life on our campus, we are gratified to see the ways our community continues to honor our history while looking forward.

2019 Strategic Plan

BT adopted a forward-thinking strategic plan with a priority placed on examining the condition of our learning environments and planning for the future.

2020 Campus Plan

With input from across the BT community, we evaluated all current facilities, systems, and technologies, identifying East Campus as the area of greatest need.

2021 Feasibility Study

A feasibility study further analyzed all aspects and considerations of a proposed campus project in order to set an appropriate and responsible course of action.

2022–2023 Pre-planning

With lead support from early project supporters and the assistance of our project team, we initiated design development for an East Campus transformation.

2024 Project Announcement

In January, we shared the vision and early plans for the project with the BT community.

2024 Building Together Campaign

In September, we launched the Building Together Campaign, inviting all members of the BT community to contribute to its success.

We are BT

Our campus transformation project would not be where it is today without the support and involvement of many BT students, families, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters. Thank you to all who have shared enthusiasm, feedback, memories, and intentions for the exciting future we are building together.
